Images
Canvas conversion, JPG PNG WEBP outputs and browser-dependent input support.
Images use the browser Canvas API rather than FFmpeg. Convert all can process several queued images at the same time.
Offered outputs
JPG, PNG and WEBP. The verified quality values are 0.92 for JPG and 0.85 for WEBP; PNG uses the normal lossless Canvas export.
Before a JPG export, SwissKnife fills the canvas in white. Transparency from PNG or WEBP therefore becomes a white background.
Inputs
JPG, JPEG, PNG and WEBP are recognized. TIFF and BMP are also recognized when the browser can decode them through HTMLImageElement; support varies between browser engines. They are not offered as outputs.
GIF does not use Canvas. See Audio and video.
Parallelism and cancellation
Convert all starts images through Promise.all, then processes FFmpeg media one by one. You can also convert an individual image from the queue.
Every item has an AbortSignal. Cancelling an image stops that Canvas conversion without terminating the FFmpeg engine.
